Angel Flake Biscuit

5 c flour
3/4 c shortening
3 tbs sugar
1 pkg yeast
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
either 1/4 c warm water and 2 c buttermilk
or 1 3/4 c warm water and 1/2 c powdered buttermilk

Sift dry ingredients (including dry buttermilk). Cut in shortening. Add liquids and yeast dissolved in water. Mix with spoon until all flour is moist. Cover bowl and refrigerate until ready. Will keep several days. Tastes best if made at least 24 hours in advance. Roll dough 1/2 – 3/4 inch think. Cut out biscuits. Bake at 400° for 12 minutes.
