(August 26, 1946) The Home of Mr. And Mrs. B. Halsema, at Edgewood, Sunday, August, 25, was the scene of a happy gathering in observance of Mr. Halsema's 72nd birthday anniversary and the 20th. wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. George Shumaker of Clarksville. Several states were represented in the group of those present, as follows; Mr. and Mrs. John Knapke and son, Adolph, of Celina, Ohio, the former being Mrs. Halsema's brother; George Halsema, of Jacksonville, Fla., the host's cousin; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fines and daughter, Joann, of El Cerrito, Calif., Mrs. Fines,, daughter of the Halsemas. Others than. those already mentioned were: William Bryant and daughters, Betty Ann and Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Halsema, daughters, Glendean and Joyce and son, Danny. Mr. and Mrs. James Downing and daughters. Helen, Margaret and Katherine, of Clarksville Mrs. Lawrence Stewart and daughters, Edna Pauline and Ruthie Mae and sons, David and Lee Roy, of Louisiana; Mr. and Mrs. Charles De gerlia and son, Billy, of Elsberry and Harman Halsema, of St. Louis, Mr. and Mrs. James Downing and daughter, Helen Margaret and Katherine of Clarksville. A bountiful basket dinner was served and the day was a happy one for all.
