A different times George ran grocery store in Jax, was a cigar manufacturer, he had a poultry business, rabbit business, moonshine business. The chain stores put his grocery out of business in the 1930’s. During WWII he worked in the shipyard as a chipper. He was overly kind and extended too much credit to his customers and never demanded payment. He paid his creditors even when they told him that they were not sure if he owned them money and not to worry about it.
